Empowering Women,
Enriching Communities

Incorporated in 2023, the Ella Initiative is a 501(c)(3) registered in Columbus, Ohio and operating in Columbus and Medellín, Colombia. Founded on the belief that women’s economic empowerment must be holistic and accessible, the organization combines practical skills training with motivational programming to help women and girls build stronger economic futures. Guided by the motto, “meeting women where they’re at with what they’ve got,” Ella (“she” in Spanish) empowers participants to gain workforce skills, generate independent income, and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.
Ella also recognizes the value of unpaid and informal labor such as caregiving and domestic work. Women are disproportionately affected by poverty, burnout, and financial instability. As a result, Ella supports women outside traditional employment structures, including informal workers and caregivers.
Through this woman-centered approach to poverty alleviation and economic mobility, the Ella Initiative meets immediate needs while helping women build long-term financial security.
